- Environmental counsel and liability allocator to consortium performing Bellingham Bay sediment cleanup
- Lead counsel for plaintiffs in numerous toxic tort class actions with recoveries of approximately $50 million
- Lead outside counsel to City of Seattle for allocation of liability for contaminated sediments in Lake Union
- Co-lead counsel for class of purchases of $300 million in securities in Metropolitan Mortgage and Summit Securities (In re Metropolitan Securities Litigation)
Representative Cases/Transactions
- Louisiana Pacific v. Asarco - successfully argued for recovery of litigation costs before the Washington State Supreme Court
- U.S. v. Alexander - successfully defended Dow Chemical against third party liability claim and recovered half of Dow's defense costs
- Mayer v. City of Seattle - successfully imposed liability on owners and arrangers for cleanup of public roadway
- Anderson, et al. v. Cedar Grove - collected $25 million on behalf of a class of owners and residents affected by Cedar Hills Landfill and Cedar Grove Composting.
- Regularly represent purchasers of “Superfund” sites
- Represented purchaser of a operating RCRA facility
- Represented seller of a oil refinery Superfund site
- Represented numerous buyers and sellers of contaminated properties
