What is the expected time frame?
Since Metropolitan and Summit have quit paying dividends and interest payments to investors, this has become a frequently asked question. Cases are generally scheduled for trial in United States District Court within 12 to 18 months from filing, depending on the type of case. In some cases, early settlements are possible. In other cases, defendants will aggressively litigate the claims against them, and the case can drag on for years. In class actions, there can be additional time needed to locate class members, give class members time to submit claim forms, and time to distribute the funds. If there is a class action, all investors in the class would be notified of any recoveries under an order from the Court.
