The head of Cascadia Development Corporation has announced that model homes in the Cascadia development should be open next spring, with houses ready for move-in by September 2008. Three builders – Centex Homes, Shea Homes and Bennett Homes – have bought the first 500 or so lots in the development south of Bonney Lake on the plateau above Orting.

GTH attorney Bill Lynn leads the legal team behind Cascadia, a 4,700-acre planned community now approved and under construction south of Bonney Lake. Lynn works for Cascadia to resolve issues with overlapping jurisdictions including nearby cities, the County and the State. Cascadia will be a complete community with 9,000 jobs, 1,200 acres of parks, and 6,000 residences, including houses, condos and town homes. “We’re basically building a city from the ground up and virtually every land use, real estate and utility issue is presented,” Lynn said.
