McCullum Helps Create University Place Town Center
The City of University Place tried for years to create a bustling community center with new businesses and customers. After the City engaged in several unsuccessful negotiations with a variety of developers, Jemima McCullum successfully negotiated a public/private mixed-used development agreement on behalf of Uptown Center Development LLC with the City in record time. The agreement allows the developer to purchase and develop approximately 12.6 acres of city-owned land in several phases over the course of the next 10 years. The planned town center, which will be called 121 Degrees West, will host office and retail space, restaurants, a hotel, public library, a new city hall, residential living, a large public parking garage and transit area, and office space intended for use by Washington State University.
