GTH partner Salvador A. Mungia was the first recipient of the Tacoma Pierce County Bar Association's prestigious Bertha M. Snell Award at the Association's 100th Lincoln Day Banquet on February 22, 2008. Bertha Snell was the first woman lawyer in Washington and overcame many obstacles in her lifetime, progressing from pioneer to legislative intern, court reporter, secretary to the governor, and ultimately lawyer. The Bertha M. Snell Award recognizes Sal's  triumph over difficult obstacles and his tenacity both in his quest to become a lawyer and in the practice of law.
