Consumer Protection

State and federal consumer protection laws prohibit companies from using deceit, false advertising, or other unfair business practices against their customers or clients.  Those companies or persons can be held accountable for the losses they cause, but these specialized laws also add financial penalties and an opportunity to be reimbursed for attorney fees in the case.

Many of our clients have relied on the consumer protection laws to correct consumer fraud and abuse.  Common cases involve defective motor vehicles and defective consumer products.  Other cases related to professional misconduct, negligence in real estate sales practices,  deceptive franchise sales and marketing, and abusive insurance sales and claims handling practices.
